more | Revell 1/9 Honda RC211V Gibernau/Kato (07929) After winning the title in the 2002 motorcycle Kings Class, a similar result was expected from this outstanding, absolutely revolutionary, racing bike. Following its brilliant success Honda only made a few modifications, which are visible in the exhaust and the slight changes to the fairing, so that this innovative, water-cooled, five-cylinder, four-stroke engine now produced over 240 bhp. Honda also succeeded in increasing the top speed to 330 kpm. As usual the Honda RC 211 V accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 2.2 seconds and from 0 to 200 in only 5.9 seconds. So it was no surprise that the Honda dominated the 2003 season. The MoviStar Team had collected a satisfying 299 points in the team standings at the end of the year. On the starting grid, the MoviStar Team had the Spaniard Sete Gibernau who, thanks to his four victories and 6 additional podium places, was battling for second place in the World Championship.more..

Following a second-place finish in racing's premier class in 2002 a similar result was expected from this quite revolutionary racing machine for the 2003 season. Due to its overwhelming success only minor changes were made to the Honda and these are evident in the exhaust and slight changes to the fairing. The innovative water-cooled four-stroke, five-cylinder engine now delivered over 240hp and Honda was able to increase the machine's top speed to 330 km/h. The Honda RC 211 V's acceleration was as expected - from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.2 seconds and from 0 to 200 in only 5.9 seconds. It was therefore no surprise that the Honda dominated the 2003 season. The Pramac Pons Team's impressive year-end points total was 351 in the team rankings. Italian Max Biaggi rode for the Pramac Pons Team and, thanks to his unique style, worked his way up to rank third overall at the end of the year. His team-mate Tohru Ukawa was the 2003 favourite and he battled his way into eighth place during the Moto GP season. more..

more | Italeri 1/9 Yamaha YZR MI Moto GP 2004 (4631) By signing on racing phenomenon Valentino Rossi, Yamaha had set its sights on winning the world title, a goal that had remained out of its grasp for far too long, the last victory being with W. Rainey in 1992. It would be no easy task: owing to contractual problems, Rossi was unable to test the new motorcycle before January. Nevertheless, at the first long-awaited race Rossi exceeded even the most optimistic expectations. The race turned out to be a thrilling contest between arch-rivals Rossi and Biaggi. To the delight and incredulity of the entire Yamaha team, Rossi took the chequered flag to win the first GP of the season. The message was clear: the M1 was already competitive and ready to battle it out for supremacy with Honda. The whole season was characterised by a head-to-head battle between Rossi and Gibernau and only at the penultimate race was the Yamaha M1 crowned world champion 2004.

more | Revell 1/9 MV Agusta 500cc 3 Cylinder Motorbike Kit (07935) For many years Grand Prix events were dominated by MV Agusta which therefore became the very embodiment of Italian Grand Prix motorcycles. From the second half of the fifties to the mid sixties the World Championship titles in the half litre class were won by riders on their four-cylinder machine until in 1966 the all-conquering three-cylinder four-stroke machine was used for races in this class. Weighing only 118 kg this powerful three-cylinder Agusta produced 92 bhp at 13,500 rpm. The MV on which Giacomo Agostini wiped the floor with the competition topped 290 km/h. Between 1966 and 1972 he took the world title seven times in succession - up to then a unique run of wins in GP events. To this day no rider has succeeded in achieving this record.more..

more | Italeri 1/6 Honda RC211V 2003 GP Valencia (4508) Ernesto Arnaes is the author of the bizarre colour design of the Honda RC 211V on which Valentino Rossi won the Valencia GP 2003, the last race of the World Motorcycle Championship. This livery, inspired by the 1960’s style is the fruit of the competition organised by Repsol in collaboration with the Spanish magazine “Motociclismo”. The winning design was chosen by a jury composed of Valentino Rossi in collaboration with other notable personalities of the motorcycle scene such as M. Doohan, C. Fiorani and C. Drudi. The motorcycle painted with this design should have made its public appearance only on Sunday, the day of the race, but Rossi wanted to mount the new fairing and test it himself on Saturday because making modifications to the motorcycle on the day of the race never brought him good luck.
