Corgi 1/50 DAF CF Curtainside R Swain & Sons Ltd (CC13601)
The original R.Swain was a fruit farmer in Kent. After the great war his two sons returned and joined him on his farm.Unable to sell their fruit at Covent Garden due to the bad rail service, the eldest son Harry loaded up the horse and cart and took some fruit to market. Within a short time other farmers wanted their produce taken to market and greengrocers wanted produce brought back from market to Kent. In 1926 the transport company R.Swain & Sons Ltd. was formed and has an unbroken record to today, where it is run by the fourth generation and with the fifth generation learning the ropes. Today the Company is based in Rochester ,Kent employs 45 people, operates 274 vehicles and 436 trailers from 12 depots in the UK
