| > Fun Flight RC Aircraft | |
These aircraft are supplied as either Ready to Fly or Almost Ready to Fly, meaning that all radio control equipment is pre-fitted, all that needs to be done is to charge the battery, clip on the wings and go and fly!
 |
Flying Radio Controlled Aircraft is a great way to get outdoors for the summer, and there's a model to suit every level of ability. The best place to start is generally with an electric powered 'Fun flight' model, such as one of the offerings from the Hobbyzone range. These flyers come in two main formats, firstly 'pod and boom' versions, with the propellor mounted out of the way behind the wing, and generally incorporating a simple 2-3 channel radio system. The other option for someone coming into the hobby for the first time would be of a more traditional shape, something like the Hobbyzone mini cub, a bit more scale appeal, but also requiring a little more concentration to keep in the air. Whichever style you go for, as a beginner looking to fly in a park or recreation ground it would be best to start with an electrically powered model. With advances in battery and motor technlogy this means that flights of ten minutes or so are easily acheived, and that's ample time to have an enjoyable flight. With many models supplied with 12v in-car chargers there's no need to run home to charge the power pack, that can be done at the flying site. |

Superb Semi-Scale aircraft are now available Almost Ready to Fly from Parkzone. Choose the from the Super Cub aircraft for sedate aerobatics, or a range of classic warbirds including the famous RAF Spitfire, P-51D Mustang and Focke-Wulf 190 for high speed RC dogfighting. Please note that the Parkzone warbirds are designed to offer fast and challenging flying for experienced pilots and are not recommend as a first aircraft for beginners. We advise learning to fly with an Aerobird or Euro Trainer aircraft to ensure a successful transition to the high speed world of aerial combat. Model aircraft should only be flown on calm days - particularly with a trainee pilot - and crashes are a part of the RC flying experience. Please follow the instructions carefully to test the transmitter range before flying and attaching a label with your name and address to the aircraft can improve the chances of recovering a lost plane.
We maintain stock of the most commonly needed spares for these aircraft to get you flying again quickly. | HobbyZone Super Cub RTF (HBZ7100) Anybody can have a good time flying the new Super Cub RTF. It comes right out of the box with everything you need included...even batteries for the transmitter. The Super Cub is equipped with 3-channel control that helps provide a true-scale flying experience. Throttle, steering and pitch controls allow you to learn the basics of RC flight, safely and simply, while still having a great time flying. Meanwhile, the instantly recognizable scale Cub design makes you feel as though you're flying a full-size pleasure plane. In addition, the Super Cub comes with all of the features you expect from HobbyZone, including X-Port expandability. Replacement parts are available from our spares shop. Its durable Z-Foam construction makes the Super Cub incredibly strong and easy to repair, and its unique trim scheme makes it look great in the sky and in your hands.
Wingspan: 1200mm. Skill Level: Novice
- Unlike most planes for entry-level pilots, the HobbyZone Super Cub has realistic scale features that are appealing to those pilots who want a teach-yourself-to-fly product that looks like a real airplane
- A powerful 480 motor that offers great climb rate and power, and is more powerful than most motors on other teach-yourself-to-fly planes
- X-Port technology that allows pilots to use add-on accessories, such as the Aerial Drop Module, for added fun beyond learning to fly (type in X-Port in the keyword search box at www.horizonhobby.com for more information)
- Steerable tail wheel - allows pilots to more easily make turns while navigating on the ground, and makes takeoffs and landings more controlled
- Two flight modes - ACT can be left on or turned off to allow pilots to be able to learn with ACT and then fly without it, once experienced, to do more advanced aeroabatic flying
- Steel wire pushrods provide more precise manipulation of the control surfaces for added responsiveness and a more durable control component
- Durable Z-Foam construction - an extremely durable foam that is lighter and stiffer than most foams, and allows the plane to fly truer and straighter out of the box. It is easily repairable with CA, and is the same material that is used in the F-27B Stryker and Typhoon 3D from ParkZone
- Detailed instruction manual and video CD educate pilots who are new to RC about flying, repairs, batteries, chargers, and replacement parts
- All HobbyZone planes are supported with a full set of replacement and accessory parts, so pilots can successfully replace parts when needed
- One-box purchase, so everything that's needed to get into the air is included, even AA batteries for the transmitter
- A ready-to-fly design that allows users to get in the air quickly after simply attaching the wing, tail and landing gear, and installing the rechargeable 7-cell 8.4V 1000mAh Ni-MH battery pack
- An easy-to-install, one-piece wing that provides incredible handling in the wind and smooth flight, and a conventional tail design
- A 3-channel radio system that makes it easier for pilots who are new to RC to teach themselves how to fly with a 3-channel airplane, thanks to ACT. Additionally, the third channel allows for pitch control so that pilots can make tighter turns and have a wider range of maneuvers, as well as the option to make pitch trim adjustments while the plane is in the air
