These aircraft are supplied as either Ready to Fly or Almost Ready to Fly, meaning that all radio control equipment is pre-fitted, all that needs to be done is to charge the battery, clip on the wings and go and fly!
 |
Flying Radio Controlled Aircraft is a great way to get outdoors for the summer, and there's a model to suit every level of ability. The best place to start is generally with an electric powered 'Fun flight' model, such as one of the offerings from the Hobbyzone range. These flyers come in two main formats, firstly 'pod and boom' versions, with the propellor mounted out of the way behind the wing, and generally incorporating a simple 2-3 channel radio system. The other option for someone coming into the hobby for the first time would be of a more traditional shape, something like the Hobbyzone mini cub, a bit more scale appeal, but also requiring a little more concentration to keep in the air. Whichever style you go for, as a beginner looking to fly in a park or recreation ground it would be best to start with an electrically powered model. With advances in battery and motor technlogy this means that flights of ten minutes or so are easily acheived, and that's ample time to have an enjoyable flight. With many models supplied with 12v in-car chargers there's no need to run home to charge the power pack, that can be done at the flying site. |

Superb Semi-Scale aircraft are now available Almost Ready to Fly from Parkzone. Choose the from the Super Cub aircraft for sedate aerobatics, or a range of classic warbirds including the famous RAF Spitfire, P-51D Mustang and Focke-Wulf 190 for high speed RC dogfighting. Please note that the Parkzone warbirds are designed to offer fast and challenging flying for experienced pilots and are not recommend as a first aircraft for beginners. We advise learning to fly with an Aerobird or Euro Trainer aircraft to ensure a successful transition to the high speed world of aerial combat. Model aircraft should only be flown on calm days - particularly with a trainee pilot - and crashes are a part of the RC flying experience. Please follow the instructions carefully to test the transmitter range before flying and attaching a label with your name and address to the aircraft can improve the chances of recovering a lost plane.
We maintain stock of the most commonly needed spares for these aircraft to get you flying again quickly. | HobbyZone Aerobird Challenger Ready to Fly Plane (HBZ3500)
The Aerobird Challenger has now been discontinued and we do not have stock available for Internet ordering. We recommend the new Firebird Freedom as the best alternative to this aircraft.
The Aerobird was created for the express purpose of giving experienced HobbyZone pilots, or any one who flies R/C, a ready-to-fly experience unlike any other. Proportional 3-channel control system give precise control over rudders for steering, elevators for pitch control and throttle for ascent/descent. Effective control surfaces will have you flying circles around most any ready-to-fly right out of the box. Loops, stall turns, whip stalls - the Aerobird can do it all. Batteries, charger and a 'Learn to Fly' DVD are included. Accessories and spares available here.
Intended for flyers seeking a more advanced airplane after mastering radio controlled flight with a more stable aircraft a powerful 380 motor provides outstanding aerobatic and climb performance. The Aerobirds control software features two modes. Sport mode combining HobbyZone's Flight-Trak technology with pitch control for trouble-free flying and Pro mode utilising V-tail mixing for maximum manoeverability. Add X-Port allows accessories like the Aerial Drop Module or Sonic Combat Module for an even greater variety of flying challenges.
As with all HobbyZone airplanes everything needed is in the box. Fully proportional single stick controller with slide throttle and X-Port activation button, rechargable battery pack, DC Peak Detect Charger and "Flying the Aerobird" DVD. The Aerobird can be assembled and flying in under 15 minutes. Wingspan 42in. length 31in. flight time 15 mins approx. transmitter range 2,500ft.
Aerobird Challenger Spares and Accessories can be found here, including Sonic Combat Module and Aerial Drop Module. Order additional battery packs for extra flights each day and a spare set of wings to keep you flying while waiting for replacements. | |
